Good point by (by Coplin [CA]) I once had a guy have H & R Block make him a tax return for me. On the return it had DRAFT, He made $125,000 and had auto expense of $30,000, entertainment $25,000 and some other deductions all even numbers. Bank statements are the way to go. Generally, the objective with the tax return is the minimize taxes, so you have to add back a few expenses to determine what true income is. I had a tenant who mainly had tip income from pizza delivery and that's how I verified his income. All of the tips weren't hitting the W-2. --64.121.xxx.xx
