I went for a wild ride today. We were putting subfloor down on the addition at my new house. Had a 4' piece laying down to be nailed in. I stepped on the edge and it wasn't totally on the joist beneath. The board flipped up, I fell and slammed my ribs full force of the 2x10 joist underneath then fell the rest of the way to the garage floor.

There was quite a loud crack somewhere in my body at some point during all that. Anyone that knows me, knows thats a lot of guy falling.

Wild ride!

Knocked the wind right out of me. I can barely bend over now. I laid on the garage floor for about 10 minutes reflecting on my life until I got my wind back, haha.

Finished the rest of the day though. What a way to start the week. --50.32.xxx.xxx

Derry about an hours drive from Belfast. They are having a better time than you are.came away from Belfast and the Titanic museum very interesting.I gave her some interesting stuff that you'd never see in the world news, according to the old timers around our way, they claim the skipper and crew were stewed out of their heads, I don't know, just what we heard.Anyway I took a spill at the top of the stairs.Ribs were sore for a couple of months, didn't go to the doctor, there's not much they can do anyway.A year or so later I had X-Rays for something else, the doctor asked what happened you had five broken ribs ????? That's life, could be a broken head! You're Lucky, could have been much worse!!!!

Wow! Glad you are OK. Hope that "crack" wasn't a rib.

People be CAREFUL! When I worked big construction in FL I saw several very bad accidents.

Three guys fell four floors when a bad support gave way in an elevator shaft. Not dead but serious injuries.

Twice had people fall through holes. One was a roofer nailing off tar paper, backed right through a skylight opening - then hit his head on a block left on the floor below.

Another, I was going over something with someone and there was a huge crash! A guy fell right through rotted wood in the ceiling in front of us.

Then there was the framer who rested his nail gun on his knee, with his finger on the trigger... ouch!

It only takes a split second.

NE,

Yikes! Glad to hear you are ALIVE!

Don't be a "guy". Serioisly, you may have internal damage.

You DO have muscle / ligamnet damage which might not show up over the next week or two so go to a chiropractor TODAY. (Common with whiplash). You DO need chiro help now to start the healing. It's harder if you wait.

If not, these injuries will surface when you are 60 and will need a cane.

My son was in a minor rear end fender bender. We took him straight from the car to the chiro. Went every other day. He was fine.

The 3 others in the car developed neck and back problems over the next few weeks.

Ya know you are not paid for the time you are in the air.

Yeah concern is a fractured vertebrae In low backs there is something called a spondylothisis, they happen all to often in falls,..they are not all that painful at first but never heal,..at a later time tey ligaments holding it together may stretch out and you can be pretty bad,..Orthopedists don't like operating on them and you are told to not lift any heavy things anymore.

ask your Chiropractor about the possibility he/he may order an xray to be sure.

Also don't take alcohol with Tylenol/acetaminophen,..and probably not with any ibuprofen or and other NSAID,..

can shut down kidneys and perhaps damage liver. (even a small amount) --24.63.x.xx
