State Specific Question About: MASSACHUSETTS (MA)

I have a file filed with former tenant info (tenant at will lease, emails). He left in April. Any reason to keep this? Thanks. --73.227.xx.x

What's going to happen when a year or 2 or 10 from now when this tenant or his children / heirs decide to contest something in the unit. FYI a minor has until 2 years after they reach the legal age of consent to bring a lawsuit against you for lead poisoning. This is just one of the many possibilities that might come up.

IMO you should keep tenant records for at least 15 years. --72.93.xxx.x

Why not just keep it forever? A 1TB external hard drive is dirt cheap anymore. Scan it in and save it forever. --98.186.xxx.xxx
