I showed a space today and the lady cried while viewing it. Not sobbing but teared up and got emotional. I can't count the number of times this has happened to me, and I wondered if I just attract emotionally disturbed people or if this is common?

Do you by any chance have an old mansion that could

be haunted ? Maybe they are overwhelmed with the

beauty of the home you offer.

No, the only one that tears up during or after a viewing

of the house is ME, when I realize what idiots I have

just wasted my time showing the house to. --74.236.xxx.xxx

That's creepy, and the only time I've had some prospective tenant cry was when I sent the woman a rejection email. I cringe now at my then self for having agreed to allow that prospective tenant's request to put her boyfriend on the lease which helped her situation financially. The couple did take care of the place very well but paid rent late quite often. They're supposed to be out on Feb 29, and I sometimes wonder if the woman is upset at how much rents have soared in the area as she and her boyfriend look for a new place.

I hope that you have other tenants who look like good, solid, and stable prospects. Best of luck. --108.81.xxx.x

I once had a female tenant cry while she was signing the lease.

She insisted she wanted the apt, but was upset because of the recent breakup with her boyfriend.

I suggested she not sign the lease then and take time to reconsider it.

She went ahead and signed it....crying all the time.

Sure enough, soon after she moved in, they got back together and the deadbeat boyfriend moved in also.

I dont rent to crying tenants anymore. --70.29.xx.xxx

I HAVE had them cry tears of joy and hug me when we sign the lease!

Or when they step in and see the glorious kitchen, usually along with an angelic chorus!

I wouldn't call it crying exactly--but I had someone go into meltdown mode when they called me back (after I had done application) and told her it wasn't going to work out. Tears, accusing me of things I didn't do. --72.188.xx.xxx

Oh right....... I forgot about THAT tenant.

It was a lady who went hysterical, crying and insulting me when she did not get the apt.

And sure enough it was because I was trying to help her......... (breaking my own rules)...... by accepting a cosigner. Her cosigner was taking too long to sign back and a better tenant applied.

OH.........forgot another one! (Maybe the problem is me?)

This tenant started crying when I told her she would have to move if her deadbeat adult son continued to bring drug dealers and thieves to the apt building. The mother started to cry and .......I folded like a wet kleenex. --70.29.xx.xxx

I wrote a very nice long explanation and for some reason this crappy laptop made it go away because I moved my wrist in some direction or other.

When I left my marriage to a sports figure, I felt complete relief to step into a beautiful apartment. I don't believe I cried but I did feel exceptionally happy. Someone else may feel defeat and loneliness. But I would select the tenant with the credit report and income and not some reaction unless they are mean and stupid. --73.33.xxx.xxx

I love it when they tear up and then tell me "oh and I have the cash to move in right now, right with me". Of course you have the cash to move in". Makes me think one of two things 1) why else would you be looking if you don't have the cash. 2) Do you have the cash cause you stiffed your current landlord --24.101.xxx.xxx

Only had one person cry on me, and HE was not a tenant. I purchased a condo on the court house steps and then evicted the building's drug dealing hooker. The guy from the unit below came upstairs because he wanted to verify she was gone. He had a major breakdown, recanting the last years with her. --108.48.xx.xxx
