State Specific Question About: TEXAS (TX)

Is the Allure vinyl flooring from Home Depot the best choice for rentals? I believe I have seen high praises for it here. Thanks --173.71.xx.xx

Hippd, how sloped are the hardwood floors? What caused them to become sloped? --108.226.xx.xx

They are about 2 inches sloping down from one side to the other. There a mess. Massive roof damage and water coming is what I reckon. Not sure if i go with thick padding and a thick carpet or.... Will check out Grip Strip Allure. Cheers --74.132.xxx.xx

What is the advantages of Allure flooring compared to the click together vinyl flooring? --173.71.xx.xx

vinyl flooring (by Nellie [ME]) Posted on: Oct 22, 2015 5:27 AM
Message:

Allure (brand) has two types. Glue strip and click lock vinyl. The click lock has to have a very flat surface to be installed on. The glue strip is more forgiving of floor irregularities. The click lock has a thicker wear layer. The grip strip is easier to replace a plank. --70.16.xx.xxx

Have you all used this on a bathroom? I went to Home Depot today and was checking out the Grip Strip Allure Traffic Master flooring. There were some ok designs like Sonoma that had the tile look without having to grout. Not the tiles but the click together install. Any first hand info would be great. --74.132.xxx.xx

I have used the grip strip in several bathrooms and kitchens. I find the wood grain patterns go together a bit easier than the tile patterns. And yes, wood patterns look good in bathrooms. --70.16.xx.xxx

Do you remember the name of the wood grain one that you used in the bathroom? --74.132.xxx.xx

The tile ones just never come together correctly - they always seem to show the seams! So now we use the same flooring as throughout the rest of the house, whichever woodgrain color we are using.

Dark colors show dust and white specks and pet hair, too-light colors show dirt.

After trying several, we like Limed Oak (a lightish greyish-brownish color that goes with everything and doesn't show dirt!)

Click-lock is much harder to install than Glue Strip. And is not as waterproof, I don't think? --173.22.xx.xx
