State Specific Question About: OHIO (OH)
we want to pay this "Tenant"to get out!!! is this legal in THE IN CITY OF CLEVELAND,OHIO ??
we just got a agreement from a potential "new tenant"that wants to move-in by the 1st of month,but the existing tenant is in "eviction"starting today(9/17/15)"FILED".Here in Cleve-OH it takes 3weeks before court date @(10/8/15).
we are thinking of asking the "exiting tenant" to exept $100
"TO GET OUT"!!!BY 9/30/15 AND TO SEND THE $100 TO A FORWARDING ADDRESS,AFTER INSPECTION&KEYS RETURNED.
LEGALLY CAN I DO THIS??? & average cost for "PAY-OUT"if deposit is $650.00&rent is $650/month???

Carl,
I start at $100 and raise it as needed.
The money I give him is cheaper than the money I lose while he waits out the court.
Then I add it to his bill - don't get excited, this type won't be paying later.
Need a deadline to be out and an expiration of the offer so the judge does not discount the amount if you go to court.
I keep it simple: "Joe, I'll give you $300 cash to be out this weekend and not damage anything. Hand me the keys, I hand you the cash." Do not talk about cleaning because he hates cleaning.
Real life: he has no money to find another place so I will pay for the first month of storage and 2 helpers with a trailer to help him move.
Or cut a deal with another LL to pay the deposit after he moves in.
I charge all this to the res.

It is your lucky day, Cle Housing court is holding the landlord class on Sept 26 at 9am in the 1st floor of the justice center, it must be in the southwest corner near the Sheriff depot - that is the only place on the first floor where there is a meeting room, cost 10bux and you can ask questions. I invited you to another landlord group a few months ago, asked thru the crowd but there was no Carl there - 2 nites ago we had the housing mediator there as a speaker - you would have benefited a lot from this meeting and prolly saved the money you lost and are now going to throw at a bad tenant - why reward bad behavior? --76.188.xxx.xxx |
