I am a plumber and many of today toilets seats are junk. If you installed a low grade seat in your rental, then you the landlord need to replace it with one that holds up to general use. --173.55.xxx.xx

Here the local Habitat for Humanity restore on and off sells toilet seats for $5 dollars each. One can buy two then install one. The restore has the regular round type and the elongated type. Go into the website then find a few different restores in your area. It is not worth the hassle for something that costs around $5 dollars. --74.220.xxx.xx
