State Specific Question About: OHIO (OH)
What is a good form to use to hire a handyman? I also want to request 3 references and that he bring a current police check to interview. --74.140.xxx.xxx |

If your by Cincinnati tell me if you found one, hehe. I have to go through 10 drug addicts before I find a half decent drunk =) Good luck and cheers --74.132.xxx.xx |

as the old saying goes you get what you pay for: Good luck finding a "handyman" to do the work of a contractor at half the price
The best handyman i ever found was older retired, who actually had their own tools, but at 3Pm his was done and by 6pm was drunk as a skunk --73.197.xxx.xx |

in my area, you would get no one if you were going to "interview" them. can't you look up police records yourself? --72.70.xxx.xxx |

Angie's List! 1-888-888-LIST
they are open tomorrow 8 to 5, Join up, they have everyone you want to deal with already in system! Try Snapfix, ask them to explain it.
I got The BEST people from them across the nation. In New York I got a Great Plumber, in Hawaii 3 electricians 2 plumbers, and a continual stream of plumbers, painters, contractors in Florida.
Right now in SoCA the Handy person I found through them, has been working here for 5 days 9 to 5. He finished his long punch list for a third of what I thought it would cost. He's coming back on Monday to ad a deck, he's that good.
Angie's does the vetting and there are reviews just like Yelp from people who have used them. You can choose to use a service with coupons, or not. With the use of the coupons it can reimburse the entrance fees.

Yelp makes them pay to get their better reviews posted. Sort of like the Mafia. Anyone can get on Angie's list and get their relatives to give good reviews. Also they don't like to travel so far to get to jobs that they get on Angie's List so you were lucky.
I ask at the lumber yard. --73.33.xxx.xxx |

Ha, ha, ha. A police check?
Many years ago I had a friend who's father was a minister. One time he asked what I did for work.
I said, "I work with drug addicts and convicts."
"Oh, how nice, you are a social worker?" He replied.
"Oh No," said I, "I'm in construction.". :-) --24.121.xxx.xxx |
