State Specific Question About: IOWA (IA)

I have a furniture set which was rented by tenant from another furniture rental company.

Tenant has abandoned the unit and furniture is still there.

To avoid liability, should I inform the rental company of the set-out time when the sheriff would be there and have them remove themselves at point in time?

Regardless state I would call furniture rental company.

Less for you to remove, they getting their stuff back. Win-win considering the tenant abandoned it all. --75.190.xxx.xx

Make sure they're there on set-out time to reclaim their stuff. Also make sure the notice you send them is in writing. They may try to come after you if it's missing since the tenant will more than likely blame you for everything. --99.125.xxx.xxx

Many states have a legal process to recover but I am sure they would like a call to come make a pickup, a few kind words go a long way - you may find a driver who needs a nice place... --75.94.xxx.xxx
