State Specific Question About: ILLINOIS (IL)

JUST DROPPED OFF THE NON-RENEWAL. OF COURSE, THEY WERE CRAZY. AFTER GETTING THEM TO SEE THE LIGHT-THEY ARE ASKING IF THEY CAN STAY LONGER THAN 30 DAYS IF THEY CAN FIND A PLACE. WE HAVE THEIR RENT ALREADY FOR THIS MONTH.

IF WE DECIDE TO DO THIS-ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO WORK DEAL OUT? WE DO NOT WANT TO LOSE RENT OR SD.

Thanks! Sent them their Move Out letter.

It's up to them if they want their SD back to leave it in good condition. --73.168.xx.xxx

Had a similar situation. complaining that they can't find anything good as of this Sunday, the 29th, and don't know what are they going to do.

Well, lets see, you had 30 days to move out and find new place. You say nothing good at all out there, only couple good places never approved, all the rest of the places suck, or dumps, or so small compared to my property.

Gee wiz guys, perhaps you should have looked at what the market had to offer for your budget prior to saying to me that you wanted to move, and hated renting my place, how your rent and my rules were unreasonable, and knew you could find better cheaper....

they ask, "what if they stay longer can they stay another month?"

well lets see, they have been renting the unit for under market, the rent is going up to fair market value, of xyz (almost double what they are paying), so if they want to rent the unit for one more month, while the seek out, find, and get approved for this rental so much better than mine, and want to rent temporarily at the new market value for April 2015, please let me know... or they will need to be on on the 31st.

Asked, What if they stay a few days longer, can they pay for partial month? Ah, Nope...sorry, full new market rent due on 1st, or be gone on 31st.

Monday, next day, oh, we found a place Ms. Landlord, we'll be out on the 1st.

Wonderful, have a good life...best wishes to you. Please remember to clean up fairly well after yourself, so that in the future, if this new place doesn't work out, I might be able to give you a reference... (MIGHT) being the word of the day....

Today, they were dragging loads of crap out....when I happen to be near by....

Hmmm... double rent wasn't that appealing... Problem solved.... --98.27.xxx.xx
