Unless Florida law or your lease say so, you are not required to pro-rate the last month.

Greg, (and others who may not be aware), for future reference, there is actually a RENT PRORATER calculater available on this site. This helpful and free calculator helps you to determine how much rent is due from a resident for occupancy less than a full month.

My lease is clear: we prorate on the way in but not on the way out. Rent is for full calendar months only.
