Check to see if code requires them to be hard wired with battery backup. That is typical in many areas. --64.223.xxx.xx

Most CO2 detectors only have a five to seven year life span. --73.181.xxx.xx

Whatever kind you install have the tenants sign an addendum to your lease acknowledging that you put them in. --24.92.xx.xx

In MA the property owner is required to have the property checked for working detectors prior to the sale. Are you sure that it's your responsibility & not the present owner's?

Also I don't know of any state that requires CO2 detectors, I believe you mean CO1 detectors.(g) --72.74.xxx.xx

Kiddies are easier to install than First Alert, if you are doing it yourself. Also use the photoelectric smoke alarms type if they are near kitchens, to reduce false alarms. Look for the contractor multi-packs to get the best price. --24.25.xxx.xxx
