State Specific Question About: TEXAS (TX)
i have a tenant that is in jail and has been for a month and no court date has been set, what are my options? --71.97.xxx.xxx |

His personal problem (jail) should not be your concern. If the rent has not been paid, then file for Eviction for Non-Payment of Rent. At least the constable will not have to go very far to serve him. --69.246.xxx.xx |

find out how to get in touch with him ... hopefully by telephone (you may have to pay to accept a collect call). Ask what his intentions are. when rent isn't paid, begin on day to for eviction. --72.95.xx.xxx |

Ok thank you, just pretty green in the landlord business so was just wondering if I handle it just like a normal eviction --71.97.xxx.xxx |

Here I would have him served in jail/ just do as normal paying service fees to sheriff dept/ they should have no trouble finding them. --50.122.xx.xxx |
