State Specific Question About: NEVADA (NV)

My management company says they cannot show me a credit report that they possess of a potential tenant. Are they right? Thanks for your reply.

Hi Rich...

Well that may or may not be correct..

Typically the mgt co works as your agent.. thus they may be

or should be able to show you the doc.. you are the owner after all

If they can or not will be controlled by:

1. your mgt agreement with them.

2. NV state law..

3. The policies of the reporting agency they used..

4. any federal laws for credit reporting or fair housing perhaps..

Simply as for the source.. and check yourself.. caution is a good thing

For me.. my documents are protected and proprietary..

the work I do for clients is as their 'agent' and passes thru me to owners or residents.. usually a PM is simply the

conduit

If you agreed to the credit reporting companies terms in writing then you should have access. If you are not viewing the docs at your management company's location then an inspection that all of us go through where you will receive and store the info would be appropriate. (At least it seems reasonable to me.)

If you can't see all the documents how are you going to audit their work, which is a reasonable function for an owner. --166.137.xxx.xx
