Hi Dan...
Well renting a garage is not like renting a home or apt..
I'd doubt there are any rules on commercial space rents like you describe...
Perhaps the NY bar association can suggest an atty to call. --207.55.xxx.xxx |

I don't know the law there either but it makes sense that if your lease is up he can do whatever he wants. If you don't like the new amt. then don't sign the new lease and move your stuff. --75.51.xxx.xxx |

I totally agree but look at almost all of us started with Debt, and leveraged to where we are today.
Wanted to note that back in the days of old (Bible) they did have debt but was forgiven after the seventh year.... Read
Deuteronomy 15:1-23
after 7 years they also shall grant a release: every creditor shall release what he has lent to his neighbor.
Glad we don't need to worry about that, wonder if things would be better or worse?... of course we don't have cloaks (jackets) taking off and giving to the lender, that way you knew who was in debt as well. and I myself, I also went into debt but glad I was able to weather the storm like others here have mentioned. In times of trouble as all have said it's the ability to pay down debt to keep your head above water, it's great when inflation kicks in and your properties are worth more than you paid but it's Prudent to be wise not to be in debt and be your own bank, the rich ruler gave talents or a loan and it also interesting that he could afford to lose them.
Remember we are just stewards.... it's not realy ours...
