I doubt anyone here is going to have that information, and most will tell you that it's whatever your judge allows.
I charge $50 plus $5/day, max $100. I've not had anyone argue. The only time it would be questioned is if you went to court. I don't know of any law in Ohio that says any particular late fee is illegal. That's where the "what your local judge allows" comes into play, but again, only if you end up in court. --12.32.xx.xxx |

In some markets, your lucky to get your rent at all. Second, if you have to evict, less than 15% of tenants ever pay their judgments. So be nice and firm to your tenant and try to train them to pay on a more timely basis before you impose late fee's. If your tenant refuses to pay a late fee, then each time write them a letter that you are deducting it from their deposit. --98.119.x.xxx |

You will need to visit housing court or print out the local tenant laws so your lease will be accepted in court, Ohio 5321 does not offer good information. --75.94.xxx.xxx |

I agree with Robert, I train my tenants from the very beginning, the rent must be paid no later than the first of the month. If I don't receive the rent on the first by 5PM I send them a text, "Rent is due today, rent paid after midnight it will be $50 late fee" needless to say, I get all my rent no later than the first. --64.134.xxx.xx |

Our rents are deposited by tenants into our bank account. I do not go around and collect rent. Rent is due at 12pm (NOON) on the due date. At 12:01pm (One minute after NOON), late fee is $25 per day, up to 15% of the regular rent.
However, on the afternoon of the due date, I am already making my rounds with 3-day notice to pay or vacate, as required by Kansas law. (We can view bank deposits online. I can look at lunchtime and see where I'm posting eviction notices after I finish my sandwich. Usually, everyone is early. Thank goodness!) --72.214.xxx.xx |

I charge five dollars a day to a maximum of ten days. They've been served and are on their way out by the time the ten days have elapsed. I'm up in the Kettering area. --75.185.xxx.xxx |
