Can anyone recommend a insurance company that gives policy to Investment property? I have liberty mutual for two of my properties. They say that one of the property has to be a primary residence but none are. I just told them I live at one of the location. I would like to switch to a different company who will give me poicy on both places as investment properties.
Only reason I want to switch from Liberty Mutual is to avoid any problem if there are any claims I have to file with them and they come back to me saying this isn't your primary residence and not pay me for the damages.

Yes, Starr Indemnity located just outside of Philly, PA. Contact Borden Perlman in Lawrenceville, NJ and they are an agent for that company. I have had good dealings with both the agent and the insurer.

jaindesi, I use Shelter. They currently cover four rentals and primary. They are very reasonable. I also have an umbrella policy with them. There auto is also very reasonable. --98.227.xx.xxx |

Don't lie and say a residence is your primary. Your insurance may not pay a claim.
Our corporation owns our home and we rent it from the company. We carry a landlord policy and personal renters insurance. If there is a loss, the structure is covered by the company policy, as is lost income, etc. Our personal property is covered by the renters ins. It is legal and actually cheaper this way. --24.156.xx.xx |

As a former public adjuster, I would have to tell you to never try to deceive your insurance company! They will investigate, most likely find out, prosecute you for insurance fraud and deny your claim.
Contact your local LL association and ask for a reputable insurance agent that other LL use. Be honest with your agent... They are there to help you get the right insurance ....
The public adjuster is valuable to the policy holder when the insurance company doesn't want to pay the appropriate amount for your claim! ;) --66.188.xx.xx |

Thanks everyone. I called Borden Perlman in Highland Park, NJ office. Waiting to hear back from them.
I only lied so I can put down something for my mortgage. I am trying to correct the mistake. I know I am probably going to end up paying higher premium since it's a investment property. --65.118.xxx.xxx |
