I have a tenant looking to re-establish credit. Can renting help build better credit? And if so, what do I as the landlord need to or can do to help assist. Thanks,

Mike, you can offer them a payment option, where every on-time payment is automatically reported to one of the major credit bureaus. Win-win situation, you receive payents automatically deducted from their checking account each month, and they can build their credit. For more info on that arrangement, click the "Easy Rent Collection" tab toward the top of this forum. --108.26.xxx.xxx |

I once tried this, and only one credit bureau responded. They told me that they only accept credit info on groups of 250 people or more. --174.125.xx.xxx |

Gail, if you are still interested in being able to report on-time payments, the company which I referred to above can be of assistance to you. By using their service, you fall under their company umbrella, (they qualify to report on-time payments to the credit bureaus because they do thousands of transactions monthly), and as mentioned above all payments you recive from your residents using their service are automatically reported each month. Sure beats paing a large monthkly fee to be part of a bureau or to qualify on your own. --108.26.xxx.xxx |
