Ultimately you can be evicted. That is a black mark that will follow you and make it even harder to find a place to rent. Rent a storage unit and find a friend to crash on their couch unit you can find a place. --75.160.xxx.xxx

Not the landlord's problem. Think positive and start looking, try hard and work hard at finding a place. I suppose there is an option of moving in with family or friends. --173.119.xxx.xxx

Go to Craig's List or the Thrifty Nickel type of newspapers, you will find lots of places available. A month and a half is plenty of time.

You could move into a month to month apartment or an extended stay hotel until you find the right place. I've done this when remodeling my home so I wouldn't be in the way of the remodelers and they wouldn't be in my way. --172.56.xx.xx

Danielle,

You can always talk to the manager and ask for more time. Does not hurt to ask.

You might need to pay a higher monthly rate after your lease runs out.

But basically the answer is "get busy".

There are places everywhere. Search online at night, go visit on your lunch hour, squeeze it in.

PS: make yourself look like a great applicant

-photos of how clean you keep your place

-rent statements to show you always paid on time

-paystub copies with you to prove employment and income without any delays or return trips

-copies of your drivers' license with you to attach to your application

You were given more than the 30 day notice required by PA. If you simply refuse to move, you are going to get into a major legal hassle, and will be eventually evicted. This will lead to more troubles finding a new place to live, as eviction information is readily available. You will also mess up your credit.

Try first requesting more time from your manager, if you are a good tenant who keeps the drama down, the place clean, and the rent paid on time. If for some reason they can't accommodate you, then follow some of the advice above to be sure to get out on time and get your security deposit back. Good luck! --71.175.xxx.xxx
