State Specific Question About: KANSAS (KS)

I have a potential tenant that e-mailed me from Canada wanting to rent my house coming here to work for one of the aircraft manufacturing plants here. How can I check him out and what kinds of things do I need to do or look for to rent from someone living far away? Would I just sent him an application? --68.102.xxx.xx

Whatever you do do not let them send you any money in advance. There are a lot of scammers that will say they are out of the country but want to put a deposit down to reserve the unit blah blah and you end up losing money.

If someone contacted me out of state I would not deal with them at all until they were in the area and looked at the unit and I could verify who they are. --205.156.xxx.xxx

First one would have to meet them in person. They would need a green card to work in the Us. They will need a passport to enter the Us. Some people have dual citizenship where one parent if from one country while the other parent is from another country. Once meeting them they will have social insurance number, health card, drivers license and birth certificate. Most provinces have a photo on the health card. Have all adults completely fill out a rental application then if the application looks reasonable one can run a credit check. Rent check corp has a office in Buffalo which can run credit checks on Canadian residents no matter what province they come from. In the reply to them be sure to bring up that all adults are required to completely fill out a rental applications. If they don't want to fill out a rental application then they take a walk. Remember here there are ten provinces here not states. --74.220.xxx.xxx

Ask to meet his supervisor at the factory to help keep this away from the scam story. --75.94.xxx.xxx
