- then yes, the new tenant should call and set that up.
MORE important is for the LL (landlord!) to have it TURNED OFF from his/her name immediately at lease signing. IF the resident delays or cannot pay the deposits, that is now the residents' problem. NEVER let the talk you into leaving it in your name "until our next check...until Friday...until until until..."
