State Specific Question About: NEW YORK (NY)
Wondering if others here when evicting use personal address?
how you list your eviction papers, do you use your home address?
wondering because, like most of us here, I have a P.O. Box but not sure I can not legally use because it could get thown out in court and do not want to risk the Judge saying you can not use a P.O box.

The defendant has the right to ask for your address, adn you will be asking for his.

Usually, legal papers require an address where the court can notify you about matters pertaining to the case.

I was not sure a PO box would be legit if the court says no then would have to start the process over again and at this point figured I would not want to risk the time starting over so i will probably put my own address on the serving papers. The reason I ask fellow landlords here what they do?
Also I Found out the tenant has a felony for beating up a person not the reason for the eviction but I do not feel warm and fuzzy putting my home address on the papers after finding that out. I have always distanced myself from tenants with a P.O Box but now going to court, I wanted to see what others here do? --67.247.xxx.xx |

Have your attorney file the papers, and the court will communicate through your attorney...
In court you may be ask to state your home address,
I was in court the other day and vey few of thr defendants even showed up,
Everyone was given 10 days to get out, one guy stated to mouth and the Judge told him it was about eviction not any thing else that would come at the next hearing...

In the __ Day Notice To Pay Rent Or Quit, I am required to specify a physical address where the rent can be tendered. So my P.O. Box would not be valid.
I use my office address. I have never had a tenant come to the office with an AK-47, thank G_d!
