Typically the fee covers the customary costs.. to screen each applicant.. and can inclued costs like travel or time... in addition to the cost of the type of report you choose

As a WI rental property owner, I can tell you that you can only change the actual cost of the credit report and it can't exceed $20. Plus, you must give the tenant a copy of the report and it must come from a national reporting agencies. This does not allow landlords to charge tenants for credit reports from credit information "resellers." Also, you have to accept one that the applicant has run on him/herself in the last 30 days. --99.101.xxx.xxx |
