I have a judgment from the JP court and has recorded the Abstract Judgment in the county deed office. Just find out that the debtor has a real property in a different state. I would like to go ahead and have the abstract judgment recorded in that county deed office. But before I do that, does anybody know anything I need to know before recording a foreign judgment? --173.74.xxx.x |

Contact the clerk in the county and ask what they need from you to get it filed --67.252.xx.xxx |

In Pennsylvania, you need what is called "an exemplified record" - basically the court documents certified to be true. you'd have to check w/the county where you want to record the judgment. I'd try to do the ground work myself and then I'd hire an attorney - you don't want to miss out on a chance to collect if they refinance or sell because your paperwork wasn't in order. --72.95.xx.xxx |
