State Specific Question About: FLORIDA (FL)

How long do I need to keep rental applications, credit check reports, and leases? --74.235.xxx.xx

since it takes so little space I just keep it forever in box in the attic. With computers you can do it taking even less time and space and it would be easier to retrieve the info should the need arise. --108.236.xx.xx

Apps: Law states minimum 2 years, so we keep them 3.

Leases: I'd never thrown them away. who knows what may pop up years later claiming you did something wrong.

Scan: we now scan all completed apps so we never have to handle / store the old files again. --50.129.xxx.xxx

You need to keep the files for 7 years, because if IRS need information or if the ex-tenant wants to take you to court.

I been keeping my files for 10 years. --64.12.xxx.xxx
