State Specific Question About: NEW YORK (NY)
I have a house in Brooklyn, NY, with 3 apartments on it. I would like to know how to find someone to take out the garbage outside 2 times a week and how much would be a reasonable price. Only take the garbage from tenants garbage cans to outside the fence.
Thanks.

If I had to have someone do it and be responsible to show up, I would think it would cost 30$. I would have them make sure it is sorted, cans, paper and general. Two hours each time, $15/hr. can you wrap other work beside garbage? Like wash the hallway? It might be good for you and your new employee.
If you or your tenants don't have time to police the trash, then you have other small maintaince that needs to be done too.
Remember, the more work you have for this individual, the lower his/her effective rate would be.
Hope it helps. --72.80.xx.xxx |

If they are like my tenants, well meaning but busy, they will pay premium not to be bothered with it. --72.80.xx.xxx |

hire a tenant or a neighbor who has some time on their hands. You want someone nearby so it will be easy money for them

how long will the job take each visit? Frank says 2 hours? I was thinking about 5-10 minutes. Find a way to make the job really fast, such as a common collection point or standardized container/bag sizes. If it is really simple and takes a few minutes, $10/week would be fair.
