State Specific Question About: NEW YORK (NY)
What is the reasonable security deposit for a collie dog weighing 30lbs. The ling and dining rooms are tile while the rooms are hardwood floors.
Thanks. --71.56.xx.xx |

Why would you want to take a deposit that is restricted to damages caused by just 1 of the occupants (aka in this case a dog)? IMO you would be much better off increasing the regular SD to the maximum allowed in your area as well as charging a monthly fee for each pet. --72.85.xxx.xxx |

No dog deposit, you need a pet registration fee and increased rent per month. I charge a $200 pet registration fee. I charge that one time, per pet, non-refundable. Then, additional $25 per month for the pet. Responsible pet owners pay it and are thrilled to have a place they can legally have their dog. --216.229.xx.xxx |

Take into consideration that collies have really long hair and shedding may become a concern?? --108.236.xx.xxx |
