Your next lease should include a clause indicating that no alterations to the home are allowed without written consent from the landlord. If they put up a new ceiling, they are in violation of the rental contract. It's better to avoid trouble than to fix problems later... --67.189.xx.x

Unauthorized repairs would be detected in an inspection, what is hiding in the ceiling anyway? More repairs, electrical wiring falling apart (funky wire extensions to a ceiling fan waiting to burn away)? This will not be good to see your place on the 6 o clock news, open it up if there is any doubt, fix it right, remember the old phrase - you want it done right you have to do it yourself, that is one my kids tell me when we get a situation like this. --76.241.xxx.xxx
