State Specific Question About: MASSACHUSETTS (MA)
I have an order of execution, and if my tenant does not vacate, I will have to use it. In calling constables, I find that fees vary, but they use a particular moving company. When I call movers, only one will publish it's rates. I am told that I have the right to select any mover I want to use, despite whichever constable I choose, is this correct? I think I have chosen both, but would appreciate any recommendations for North Middlesex County! Any thoughts on recouping costs? --76.119.xxx.xxx |

I should also tell you that I know the mover has to be licensed for evictions. --76.119.xxx.xxx |

If you aren't feeling to friendly toward your newly ex-tenants, you can call movers from the other end of the state to move and store your tenants' possessions.

@LadyLL: Do you have multiple constables to chose from? and each one has a moving company they like to work with? How Strange!
I have one constable -- the Clark County Constable. That office is a govt law enforcement office and has a monopoly on lock-outs. But they don't do anything about movers, they just deal with locksmiths.

been a while since I did a move (paid $200/room ... now it's $400 - I hear). But I stayed with the constable I used for all prior notices. And let him pick the mover.
In my last case the constable saved me a few bucks by allowing the tenant a one way move to the place of his choice (a garage). Would not have been possible if the constable and mover were not working together.
Note that any perishables (food, plants, pets) will be left untouched. --24.128.xx.xx |

Yes, we have all kinds of ways to spend money here in good ol' Taxachusettes, NV. Tryin is right in the ball park on cost.
So the food/pets/plants is abandoned property? --76.119.xxx.xxx |
