How do I recover money when they know what to do and do the investigator or supervisors just aren't taking care of it? Checks for rental assistance were lost in November. One was cashed by another of their accounts without endorsement. Before Christmas investigator said they cut one back to the agency, and it was going to be cut to me again by so and so date. Then despite all my calls again I did not hear back for 5 weeks. Then he says it will be done on Monday 2:15, and he'll call at 2:30- three weeks ago. Nothing. Another supervisor calls his, she tells him to get on it in the morning. That was 2 weeks ago. Still no call or action. So I am not able to go there in person due to work, etc. What is my recourse? I see this as the agency not caring accept for one supervisor who is not in investigations. Calls don't get attension and the tenant is up on her rent. The other check was cashed at a Cap 1 bank in Long Island with no endorsement. They had the copy of the back of the check and i asked for that. I am not sure I understand all of your post. However, back in the days when I had a number of Section 8 tenants once my check was sent to someone else. That created a problem for me. Then the Housing Authority said they could not do anything until the other person returned it. He has a staff that will do an inquiry at the Department level post, you will know the day they call the department because you will be getting a call to try and make it right.
