State Specific Question About: MASSACHUSETTS (MA)
How many landlords in Massachusetts think it is worth it to submeter their tenants water usage? I am talking about owners with over 50 units. --174.63.xx.xx |

I can see it argued either way. Personally, I just build the cost into the rent. --74.8.xx.x |

IMO with existing older multis unless you are doing major renovations the payback period is not worth it. Thia is especially true for some of the 3, 4 & 6 unit buildings that were originally made as 1 or 2 families.
However if you are rebuilding after a fire or some other major catastrophe it makes sense to at least separate out all of the H & C lines by unit. This would enable you to easily comply with the MA regs on charging tenants for their water usage. --151.203.xxx.xx |
