State Specific Question About: MASSACHUSETTS (MA) Is it required of the landlord to educate a tenant on how to find an apartment. I'm going to evict this tenant an I think he doesn't have a clue on what he has to do.

If I ever have an eviction, I hope my tenant has no idea what to do. I would not think any education would be required, But I'm in Ga. --98.94.xx.xxx

Not a legal requirement. Best you can do is to use any tool possible by eviction to move him along. --108.20.xxx.xxx

You will be "educating" them that they need to pay rent in their next abode by the swiftness and surety of their eviction. If they fail to learn, the teacher cannot be blamed.

It's sad that this even has to be considered. Next thing you know, we'll have to teach tenants how to wipe their bottoms... --76.211.xx.xxx

We recently evicted a couple as ignorant as ignorant can be....they even tried to intimidate us with clauses and laws that were not in the lease contract or in the TN Residential Act....it was hilarious and scary at the same time (you never know what they are capable to do..) --98.87.xxx.xxx
