State Specific Question About: WISCONSIN (WI)
We do not want to renew an exisitng yr.to yr. lease - so when is the proper time to inform tenant! Their lease is up July 1, 2011 - she just found out she is pregnant and now is applying for some financial help from the state. We need to be ready for this this mess :-(

Check and REcheck your lease for any notification requirement and if there are none and none in WI state law * then write her a note and tell her you are not renewing her lease and that if she finds suitable housing BEFORE her lease is up, then you will let her out of the remaining portion - you get property back EARLY and can RErent --65.40.xxx.xxx |

Since you do not want to renew, give a 30 day notice. If you go to the WI law library online, you can find a lot of information.

i dont see why u dont want to renew.it might cost u thousands to turn over the apt.maybe she can get section 8 .if she is a good guy except for that i would be inclined to let her stay but its up to u of course.u might get an eviction then tell her to go to housing for an emergency section 8 with the eviction papers in hand.worked for me once .they put mine at head of the list bcs she was being evicted.that was about 40 yrs ago.her son is still there at small subsidy. --173.14.xxx.xxx |
