I see you might be an absentee landlord - I would not suggest you start with sec8 until you are really familiar with all the paperwork, caseworkers, inspection people - you can meet them at the local office and your gut will tell you if they are right for you, then screen the tenants carefully - more than a 20minute ride is too far. --76.241.xxx.xx |

if u are new to section 8 i think u should carefully study it before starting.a few guys here make a buck at it but u should screen prospect carefully as suggested by govt.and deal with good housing authority only.some are anti landlord and can drive nuts.i try to stay away from it myself but each to his own.if u get in a fight with a tenant they get a free atty to fight u and a free atty to do appeal.be careful to stay legal.if u have a source of income law like we have in mass u have to be very careful u dont discriminate on source of income.a guy was fined 50000 here for a violation.also had to pay tenant legal costs of 30000. --173.14.xxx.xxx |
