State Specific Question About: MAINE (ME)
Do you know what our problem is and if not can you figure it out? On Christmas our toilet would not flush at noon, but worked great in the morning,it happen quick for no reason. If you let it set for over night then you can get 3 to 4 good flushes out of it then it won't flush. The drain will work for a little while after then the water will come up in the bathtub.Leave it alone for awhile the it all leak down the drain and I can get another 3 or 4 flushes and it starts all over. And I don't underdtand why the water in the flush leaks all the way down too it don't hold the water that is suppose to stay in the bowel.
Thank You --74.124.xxx.xx |

You just have a partial blockage in the main line. As you use it the water takes a bit to fill up the line. So you are getting a few flushes before it fills back up the pipe. Then it slowly drains down so you can use it again. But if you use it before the line has drained it has nowhere to go but back up in the tub. --71.127.xxx.xxx |

I agree with RR78(VA) I just dealt with one of these problems today, turned out it was in the city main.Ask your city to take a look for you it seems like when I have this problem about 10% of the time it is the cities problem and they deal with it. --67.252.xx.xxx |

Another question, are you on a Septic system? If so you need to get your tank pumped. If not, quit flushing baby wipes and tampons down the drain. The strings on the tampons (refered to as white mice by the drain cleaning crowd) get tangled in any roots in your drain and cause a blockage. --173.18.xx.xx |
