State Specific Question About: VERMONT (VT)

We have multiple rental units and each year it's a time consuming, tedious task to fill out the "Landlord's Certificate" Form LC-142 by hand for each tenant so they can get their renter's rebate if they desire.

Is there any software (or software add-on -- e.g. we have Quickbooks) that could make this process automated/easier? In Vermont, it's law that we have to send each tenant the completed Landlord's Certificate, regardless of whether the tenant requests it or not. --209.134.xx.xx

sorry, I don't know of any.

It does take a lot of time.

Where are you located in vt? --68.187.xxx.xxx

Can you scan it into the computer and then use a program like word to fill in the blanks. --71.132.xxx.xx

Unfortunately, Vermont does not accept scanned images, so I'm guessing that might translate to scanning it into a Word doc, but not sure; something to look into. --209.134.xx.xx

We don't have this in IL, but regarding forms in general, if you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat (NOT just the free reader), you can create fields into scanned forms, so that you can tab over to the next field to fill it in (type) electronically.

If you don't want to buy the full version, get with a local full service printer and they should be able to set it up for you. (Then what I would do is sell this file to other VT LLs and get my money back.) --99.67.xxx.xxx

Blue [IL], thanks for the suggestion. That would solve part of the problem, but we would still have to type every tenants info into each form. We really need some software or an online service that allows us to import our tenant data file (with all of their info) and export the completed forms for each tenant as a pdf file.

Maybe some programmer or a business entrepreneur will read this and take on this project as a business venture. --209.134.xx.xx
