Ok, anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement clip to hold the burner tube on an enerjet furnace? I can't find them anywhere and since the company no longer is in business, I am worried I won't be able to find a replacement... And I don't want to use a piece of wire to hold it up and run the risk of having the burner tube fall and then a delayed ignition cause the thing to explode like a bomb... Help! Anyone else have this problem? The darn clip rusted out and fell apart, but the furnace works fine... --67.85.x.xxx |

Get out the metal snips and make one out of a piece of sheet metal. Fold the end over the burner tube and screw it to itself (not the burner tube!!). Screw the other end to a safe metal surface with TWO screws so it won't shift.
It will be every bit as secure as the original mount. --141.129.x.xx |

Yeah, I wound up using a piece of wire instead... Actually, 2 pieces of wire that I looped through the hole for the clip on the burner tube and up through the mounting hole and twisted them together to keep from releasing... Kind of ghetto, but it works.. Of course, I'd prefer factory parts, but what can you do..... --67.85.x.xxx |

If you follow gevans idea, try forming this with a 3/4 copper 2hole strap - the copper will handle heat and take forever to corrode. --192.35.xx.xxx |

Virden,
Don't know why I never thought of that. I've always got an extra copper strap in the box somewhere from that failed X valve.
Great tip! --141.129.x.xx |
