State Specific Question About: OREGON (OR)

Gave our crazy ex-daughter-in-law a 60 day notice, which was up 11/17. She moved out, but left a whole household of stuff behind. Sent her the appropriate abandoned property notices. I have 2 questions: 1)if she comes to get her stuff before times up, I don't want to be there. Is there someone in the Portland area that will supervise this type of thing? 2)if she doesn't take it, is there someone in the area that will load the whole thing and take it away? --72.90.xxx.xxx

Look in the "services" section of CL. There are juk guys who will haul stuff off.

Also if you just post a "free" ad on CL - one mans junk... --76.87.xx.xx

Salvation Army , Good Will . or your local Rescue Mission would most likely haul this stuff off for you. --99.117.xxx.xxx

Thanks for the suggestions. I am still looking for someone that would supervise her if she does pickup her stuff. I am not comfortable being around her, but don't trust that she won't get in there and change the locks if I just open the door and leave her alone for a day to move out. Any ideas? --72.90.xxx.xxx

Oh, ahhh - what exactly does State Law say? Can you really dispose of her junk? No storage requirement for 30 days? Has she shut off all utilities?

I would do an eviction to get a judgment - play it safe as this is both, bad blood and personal. Count on her suing you over her stuff! *** I would call up some managers at trailer parks nearby. very resourceful folks and always nearby. --125.25.xxx.xxx

Hi Sparky

Well you said you sent the notices.. be very careful.. laws change in the last several years.. and different judges apply them differently ...

If you had done all that is required.. you have

1. declared under 500 and removed it..

2. mailed to the last known address and if you have a very good rental agreement.. it also allows post and mail.. so you can post on the house as well the notice..

Suggestion.. get ahold of one of the two state LL associations..

Me I always hire it done.. just like the Magnicent 7.. (spelling) gad --207.200.xxx.xx

i doubt even the salvation guys are going to just come in and carry everything out and haul it away... they do not want all that extra work. Time to call 1800 got junk and pay up unfortunately! probably will cost you $500+ depending on amount. --66.87.x.xx

I don't know what it would cost. But you might try a trust company. They have what is called "Cleaners" that empty out houses of people that have died and left the house contents to places like the salvation army.

Salvation army WILL clean out an entire house of everything. Bless them. This is why I only donate to Salvation Army. They take whatever I have except for one thing. That is furniture that is torn. I'll take that to the dump myself.

Good will have become so picky that they are insulting. I won't donate to Good Will any more. Only Salvation Army.

My flat fee eviction lawyer has services for

any of your needs. Including babysitting evicted tenants when they come by appointment only to collect all of their things between this time and that time on this date. They tell them to be prepared to move everything. When they are done they have them sign a release. If there is any junk left over the release lets you do what you want with the stuff. Trash it give it away whatever and you are done with them.

My flat fee eviction lawyer and associates is in CA LA and Orange counties approx.

I don't know what is available in OR. Sorry.
