State Specific Question About: CONNECTICUT (CT)

I had a tenant leave my condo but they left behind a destroyed couch and other large items. If i put all of the stuff outside the building who is responsible for the removal of it? --76.24.xxx.xx

Depends on your city's trash pick up policy...if they do not pick up bulk trash for free...you might be faced with a fine...might be best for you to haul it off to the landfill.. --96.239.xxx.xx

It won't work for a destroyed couch, but many things are taken by person listed on freecycle or the free section of Craigslist. --64.12.xxx.xx

Gotta learn your local rules.

In a condo, the association will probably fine you.

Can you break it up and fit it into the dumpster?

Some local charities will haul away decent items for free.

Load it up and deliver it to the tenant's new home or home of their emergency contact person. We've done that MANY times.

I have given things tenants left behind away on my local freecycle. It's not unusual though that someone who wants the item won't pick it up. I then haul it to the curb and it tends to disappear by the next day.

If it doesn't then it's a trip to the landfill and the cost of such is deducted from the former tenants security deposit.

Get a pack of hot dogs and burn it next to the dumpster, we can burn many things but not burn them - keep the marshmallows nearby too. --76.241.xxx.xxx
