State Specific Question About: INDIANA (IN)
There was a fire in my rental house. The cause of it was due to the tenant's negligence. The house is being fixed right now. Am I obligated to continue to rent to him? He has not removed anything from the garage and all his personal belogings were damaged. Can I just sent him an Eviction notice for this things in the garage? --159.53.xx.xxx |

First off you should have loss of rent income on your insurance, also your insurance will go after him for the damage.
You need to let your insurance company do the talking. CYA...

check the lease , often a fire or other disaster causes the lease to be voided.

Ask the tenant what they want to do, have them come drop the burn out stuff into the insurance paid dumpster or you will be paying for another one very soon so you can use the garage again for the next tenant, charge the security deposit the hauling fees if they do not respond in 3 days by phone - the dumpster will be gone quickly. --76.241.xxx.xxx |
