State Specific Question About: GEORGIA (GA)
I have got a house in the Summer Hill/Tuner Hill area near downtown Atlanta. It's a 4 BR house that I am trying to rent. Section 8 said it would qualify for a 3 BR because of the window is too high on the 4th BR. Any suggestion about how much section 8 would pay in that area and if I am better off renting it to market. What's the tops for renting to market? --12.21.xxx.x |

Are you a new LL ? If yes, I would not do Section 8 as your first tenant. You should only accept Section 8 after you become seasoned in this business.
Since you asked, Section 8 has a complicated formula they use to determine the maximum amount of rent they will pay any LL. You can negotiate a little with them but not much.
I used to live in Atlanta and I know the rental market there is pretty broad. Run an ad in the Sunday paper and see what you get.
Again, I would try to rent to the general rental market in Atlanta before dealing with Section 8. --76.18.xxx.xxx |

Have you considered lowering the window to make it acceptable to S8? --72.85.xxx.xxx |
