State Specific Question About: CONNECTICUT (CT)

tenant became liable for two months rent and other costs, which net of the security deposit amounted to $2500.00. the tenant left the unit during midmonth to join her son who had been relocated by his company. although not a party to the lease, the son made the rental payments on behalf of the tenant. the question ; can the son and/or the company be considered parties to the lease? the tenant has relocated with the son in the past when he had been relocated by the same company. --71.234.xxx.xx

Sorry but you are S.O.L. unless the son was a co-signor.

Your only recourse is hopefully that they relocated within your state, and you know where they are so you can serve them in a small claims court case...good luck on that.. --173.59.xxx.xx

Am i safe in assuming that the reason son was paying rent was that mom is destitute ? If she has nothing and no income even a judgment may not be of much help to you. In future similar situation get the person with the money and means to sign as guarantor. --70.130.xx.xx
