State Specific Question About: VIRGINIA (VA)

If I have a real estate company manage my property I was told that they are not allowed to tell me who is or is not on the lease. Is this true? I think I have MANY people living there that are not on the lease. Thanks for your help. --70.169.xxx.xxx

Read the contract, the info should be there, study your local/state laws to be sure what is accepted in your area. --76.241.xxx.x

I believe that I would specify exactly what I expected from the PM company that was working for me . I want what I'm paying for . Something like that would be a reason for me to be making some changes. --208.189.xx.xx

I'll bet they can tell you who buy a house they list and how much they pay for it,

If the manage a property for you they can tell you how much rent they collect and who it is from, also they can tell you who has signed the lease.

Some Real Estate agent phony up deals. and collect money under the table, they also go to jail... --67.163.xx.xx

Why not join a landlord association and learn how to manage your own property?

It's your property and you should know everything about it and the tenants who are there.

Why pay someone else to be in control of your property?

Go to view the file(s). Read the credit reports, the application form, the works. My PM refers borderline cases to me (mostly credit too low). It's a business, not a hobby and your homes are worth how much? surely you are entitled to some knowledge who is in your properties? --86.96.xxx.xx

That's rediculous! I have a realtor managing one of my houses. "I" have a copy of the lease. Why shouldn't I. It's MY house. --205.188.xxx.xx
