State Specific Question About: NORTH CAROLINA (NC)
I'm an individual residential landlord. I would like to begin sending letters to current landlords requesting tenant performance info to help in my tenant application/selection process. My concern is that there may be a bias from current landlords since their current tenant is seeking other residence. Maybe they want them to stay so they don't lose the rent OR maybe that want to get them the heck outta there and will tell you they are GREAT! Get references from the prior LL, not current one.
If where they live is their only LL history, rely more on their credit report.

You want to jumble the numbers when you call - just checking on your old tenant Mr smith with 6 kids, he always paid 965 for that 3 bdrm place till you raised the rent and he moved away in 2005 - most will make the corrections so be ready to take notes to match the application data you already have - you will know if the prospect is giving bulloney or the real thing. --76.241.xxx.x |
