Ever heard the term when it rains, it pours? Well in this case if it flushes it pours. The cast iron sewer pipe from upstairs apartments split on the top and when the upstairs stool is flushed water gushes into downstairs apartment.

Tenant is very unhappy at the water that came down into her bathroom. She screamed at me again. Going to cost an arm and leg to have two plumbers replacing the line and feeding it between the downstairs ceiling and the upstairs floor.

That is all the bad news. Now for the good news. The tenant that is being inconvenienced is the one I already gave notice to. I don't particularly care if she is unhappy. My plumber is coming at 8 am this morning to replace the line (pays to have long term relationship with your plumber). Oh and we were able to make arrangements for the upstairs apartment to use an extra bathroom so that there were no more waterfalls. All other tenants except the one I have already told to move are happy with the response.

Screamed at you, as if you did this on purpose.

First the tenant that we gave notice to and where the water came down at DID NOT CALL US. Instead they went upstairs and screamed at the tenant in the upstairs apartment cussing at them. It was the upstairs tenant who called us yesterday and told us what was going on. Evidently this leak started Thursday and it took these people two days to go up and start screaming at the other tenants.

I asked them why they didn't just pick up the phone and call us when it started. They were BUSY and did not want to be BOTHERED right then. Oh and they thought the people upstairs were doing something deliberately.
