I have window units in the tenants bedrooms, but they have been saying it gets too hot in the living room even when there is a fan (which is true).
What type of indoor, ventless a/c units (like the self-standing ones) have you been using? Any recommendations? I don't mind paying for the a/c unit in the living room if its compact and not too pricey (i.e. under $1500).
I live in the Northern VA area. Thanks.

I have a Penquino 10K BTU portable AC unit I loan out to my tenants when their AC goes down. I am very happy with it. Have had it about 4 years now, used by tenants who are hard on appliances and still running just fine. Think I paid about $350 for it. Well worth it IMHO. --96.225.xxx.xxx |

I think they are not ventless. There is a tube that goes to the window to vent hot air and also one that is on the end of a pump which pumps out the condensation if it doesn't fail.
There are some that put condensation into a cup that the tenant must empty, if they remember. Do you have hardwood floors?
Why can't there be another window unit? --76.99.xxx.xx |

No such thing as ventless AC.
Either vents sitting in a window or thru a hose. --71.127.xxx.xxx |

The one they have a WalMart doesn't require that you empty condensate. It's got a Vent flex hose that fits in a window . I had a Delonghi unit that I liked and it did a good job . I got it at Lowes. It was a 10,000 BTU .The one I had didn't require emptying condensate either, it just blew the humidity ladden air out the window . Of course they a at least $100 more than comparable window units. For $98 you can put one( Window Unit) in each room of the house if you want(5000 Btu) --208.189.xx.xx |

Ventless A/C is a deep freezer - deep enough to sleep inside of. --76.241.xxx.x |

You might consider a unit that fits into a slide out case and is installed permanently through the wall. I just installed two 8,000BTU units at a cost of $225 per unit (you can get them cheaper) and the installation was $200 per unit. Several manufacturers have them, including GE and LG (LG uses the the Goldstar name). --99.65.xxx.xxx |
