State Specific Question About: WASHINGTON (WA)

I have been renting to a couple for 6 months, we were told they were married when they filled out the application, however, I have since found out that they are not married, they have also moved additional people into the home, also they are wanting me to now lie to the local welfare office and say I am renting half of the home to one person and the other half of the home to the other person, I have refused as this is a felony, they are always late with the rent and the last month I went to pick it up they began yelling at me. I gave them a notice on February 5th stating we would not be continuing to rent to them and they would need to vacate by the end of the month, since giving them the notice the man called me up screaming at me that I cannot do that and that I did not give them enough time, they have not paid the wsg and I am left with that bill to pay, earlier this week the man stated I could pick up the keys on the 28th before 5pm, however I received a voicemail yesterday from him stating he will not be leaving and that's the way it is so I can try to evict him if I want but he is not leaving. I have a couple of concerns with this, I am afraid he is going to continue to run up the utility bill and I will be stuck paying for them, I am worried he will trash the place, and I have no idea how long the eviction process can take, I've heard anywhere from 20 days to an entire year. Any comments and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. --72.173.xx.xx

Wow, thank you all so much for your input, I really appreciate it, to answer your questions here I go, I definitely am not becoming involved in the whole welfare fraud that they're trying to pull, and they didn't put it in writing, I actually received a phone call from a caseworker at the welfare place and she was wanting to know how much they paid in rent, when I told her she said well, they're saying that he pays $625 and she pays $625, I said no they are paying $800, the caseworker was like well he's sitting right here, I said well that's fine but they only pay $800, at that time I tried to call them but they had disconnected the phone for the 3rd time in as many months, so I went over there and he was like well I didn't realize she would call you right then and I had wanted to talk to you so you would verify what we told them, I said ummm... that's not going to fly, then I found out at that time that they weren't married and that they had moved more people into the place, geez, it's just been a continuous headache, she even went so far to tell me that she didn't take his last name when they were married, which I didn't question because I had kept my name when I got married, the guy told me after I busted them in the lie that oh... well... we just said that so it would be easier to get the place, ugh... people these days --12.213.xxx.xx
