If you already have the judgment, I am confused about why you need an attorney to fight your case. What is the judgment you have? In what county? Is the tenant appealing? --205.188.xxx.xx |

Steph must establish his (her) KS judgment as a MO judgment in MO court, in order for MO judge to order garnishment from MO employer.
Small matter, but have to get the law right. It can be complex if ex-tenant challenges Steph's right to make KS order into MO order. Ought to have an attorney (MO).

You need more than just a collection attorney.
Whatever attorney needs to be licensed to practice in MO courts. --98.112.xxx.xxx |

I gather from what you have said your judgment was in Kansas.
I have done the reverse - transferred a judgment from MO to KS. There is a foreign judgment form you used - and years ago it cost $100. I also have done something from county to county in Missouri. However, in my experience it rarely got me anywhere. The foreign judgments seemed to be ignored.
The Missouri attorney I most respect for his knowledge of landlord/tenant (although I have never used his services) is Robert J. Wise, who has an office in Kansas City MO.
You might also consider a collection agency. --205.188.xxx.xx |

Thank you, all of you are right. I did some more checking and I will have to have it accepted in MO court, atty. here says not a huge deal. Then garnish. Thank you all for your comments, and thank you for sharing the names I will try both of them. --68.28.xx.xxx |

You need a collection agency or a collection atty in MO. They can have your KS judgmen domesticated (registered as an out-of-state judgment) and execute.
There is something called Campbell's List of collection Attorneys. I don't know if it is available to the public, but most collection attys will have it to use to refer matters to other attys in distant locations.
