State Specific Question About: MISSOURI (MO)
I own a house, and I want to rent one of my rooms, out to a person. Will this fall under subleasing laws? --173.26.xxx.xx |

That would come under Rooming house laws. It wouldn't be a sublease unless you were renting out a room in a house you were renting. --70.252.xxx.xxx |

No. You are the owner.
Subleasing applies only when the tenant allows another to take over his Lease, with (or sometimes without- a major violation) the permission of the landlord.

Look into the rooming house rules at your city hall, they get taxed heavily and many are used by disability folks in my hood where there are no kin to take care of them. --99.161.xx.xx |

If you rent only one room, you probably don't have to meet any special requirements. If you start renting multiple rooms, you might fall under rooming house regulations in your city. Especially since you are living there, be sure to screen the person very, very carefully. --64.12.xxx.xx |
