State Specific Question About: GEORGIA (GA)

I have a 48inch open pipe in my yard that drains a creek that runs under my driveway into the pipe, which runs about 200 feet into a stream. A child/pet could get stuck and drown in the pipe during a rain storm, what language should I use on the lease to protect myself as a new landlord. Thanks. --67.191.xxx.xx

As a kid, my friends and I used to climb through those pipes. It was so cool listening to the muffeling sound of vehicle traffic on a busy road while climbing through those pipes several feet below the road ways.

Kids will be kids and there would have been no way to keep me out of those pipes when I was 12 years old. Highly doubt if you can stop the kids either unless you securely install thick metal grates (not fence) over the inlet and outlet of the pipes.

Seems to the the old saying "prevention is the best cure" falls into play...i.e. intall a metal grate with rather large mesh type holes, large enough for large pieces of trash to sift through, but to small for kids... --70.16.xxx.xx

Instead of a sign . i'd maybe try to keep the pipe clear so that should a child be swept into it they'd go right through and not be caught inside. Or you couild put a grate over it but then you'd have to be sure that is was close enough that even a small child wouldn't fit through it and it would have to be constantly cleaned to remove debris. Any kind of water hazard has an almost magic attraction for kids . Thay have to be watched constantly. --69.155.xx.xx

In the city I grew up in we used to take fireworks in those and light them during rush hour and crawl out the other end to see the traffic stopped, things like this just happen with kids till the cops come to the door asking questions. --76.241.xxx.xxx
